Anarchie is an FTP and Archie client which will browse FTP sites and download files. This program is an every day user for thousands of Internet and shareware users. Anarchie is also scriptable, which could mean a lot less work during those repeated tasks. If you start using it, you won’t stop.

Compact Pro 1.5.1 is an extremely useful and powerful compression program. It can create self extracting archives as well as archives that can be extracted by Compact Pro or StuffIt Expander. The user can also use Compact Pro to create archive volumes which span more than one disk. This compression format is one of two standard compression formats for the Macintosh.

  11. Disinfectant recognizes and can protect your Mac from all known non HyperCard Mac Viruses, and their clones or variations. In addition it may also be able to detect unknown viruses. It will detect and when possible fix infected files.

Drop-Disk is a small but powerful utility for mounting disk images on the desktop. This is a very handy device especially for installing programs which have numerous diskettes. The user can create a disk image for each diskette then run the installation entirely from the desktop. This program was co-authored by Mike Weise and Chris Cotton.

Easy View is a great program because it allows very fast access by recognizing the internal structure of a text file.  All of the following text formats can be viewed using  Easy View:  setext, including TidBITS and similar publications, Info-Mac, c.s.m.p, or similar digests,  Mail collections: Internet (Eudora), Navigator, NewsWatcher, etc.,  Dictionaries, Plain text. You may have to use it to understand how good it is.

Fetch is a Macintosh program for transferring files.  It uses the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and therefore allows a networked Macintosh to transfer files with any connected machine that supports FTP. Requires MacTCP and a TCP/IP network connection. It is very easy to use and feature a very informational help menu. A great FTP client we highly recommend it.

  27. GraphicConverter is a great application for opening almost any graphic format, and then converting it to another. Also it contains many useful features for picture manipulation. This is an application that you will find very useful, if you work with graphics.

  34. ShrinkWrap™ 1.4.2

  36. ShrinkWrap is a handy utility for mounting disk images onto the desktop. It is especially useful for installing large programs which have multiple diskettes. The user can first save disk images to the hard drive then mount the images on the desktop. Once the images are mounted, click on the mounted disk icons as if they were actual diskettes. Various Image File Formats are supported. ShrinkWrap is now scriptable with Frontier.

  40. This is an excellent application for playing you favorite MPEGs, PICTs and QuickTime movies. It can also convert between all of  them. This is a great program for viewing the  Internet MPEG movie archives.
